If it’s a non-cse branch, Do non-core companies allow this branch for placements? What’s the avg package they offer?
Depends on company. Avg package is double of what they would provide at graduation level. (6.5 lakhs)
a) Career Opportunities after completing MTech/MS/Phd b) Do students get time to prepare for other Govt. exams or coding / non core preparation?
Research saturating in this branch. But still PhD opportunities available. Plus Demand will be there cause of whole system uphevel to Renewable. Yes, you can have enough time. Assignments are there but usually 1 day work. 2nd year is completely for project. There also teachers are not life suckers. Enough time to prepare for any exam. First year syllabus mostly of GATE, so learn, earn a degree and at the same time get PSUs
As a senior what will you suggest or advice a junior who wants to join this course?
Join if you have real interest in power system(Generation, Transmission, Distribution). Power Elex is a better choice if want to continue your coding experience. Also, check your year gap. If year gap is more than 2 yrs, come solely if you want to pursue PhD- placement opportunities are less then.
