An opportunity who didn’t given GATE or got very less Score.
1. CMI takes its own entrance every year. (this year on 27th June).
Eligibility: Students who have obtained, or expect to obtain in 2021, undergraduate degrees such as B.A., B.Sc., B.Math, B.Stat., B.E., B.Tech., . . . with a strong background in Mathematics are eligible to apply for the programme.
There are three program in masters – Mathematics, Computer Science and Data Science.
While filling application form :-
if u apply for mathematics you are eligible for all as per ur results.
if in Computer science, then you are only eligible in cse and ds.
if in ds, then you only applicable to ds only.
CMI Computer Science program is one of the best in India for Theortical Research and too much highly rated in mathematics field.
• Paper For Data Science :-
for mainly data science, paper is easy and they test only ur aptitude. U must have knowledge of probability, statistics, basic knowledge of how a code works. Discrete math( PHP, counting and Logic mainly), basic number theory and school level mathematics.
There is two section, MCQ and subjective.
In subjective part u have to write short answers. u can check their website for further details.
U can prepare it in 1 – 1.5 months smoothly.
2) They mainly select top 60-70 studenst based on performance.
Most of them have also qualified ISI entrance, so most of them choose ISI and some left CMI due to huge tution fees.
As our batch strength is 48 (current-data science), previous batch strength is 39.
3) Placement Opportunities :-
Placement opportunities is very good. As it is mainly research college, but they have started Data Science program which focused on placement. and they follow it very strictly.
Their curriculum is best who wants to learn Data Science for any background.
CMD of congizant joins CMI as CEO, it will boost placement opportunities.
For the first batch of Data Science, there are 24 students and 30 companies comes for internship including Flipkart, Paytm, Morgan Stanley, Abode, HP, Credit Sussie, EnY, Accenture and many mores and startups.
Their internship stipend is in range of 16k to 80k per month.
Their lowest is 13 lakhs and highest is 20 lakhs (a guy with 4 year exp) .
For the second batch, covid happens, Only 11 can get industry internships and rest goes for academic internships. 36 have registered for placement, 20 have placed till January. Highest package from micron of 18 lpa for 5 students and lowest is around 13 from LnT.
Optiver also comes for HFT role (56 lakhs package) but no one got selected.
(4) Prerequisite before taking Data Science course :-
There is no prerequisite required for it. You must understand and learn programming and 11th and 12th level mathematics mainly.

(8) Current Batch (20-22)
In our batch, around 14 are from BTech background. Few are from VIT, NIT Durgapur, Jadavpur University, many of top DU college, IISER Bhopal and like this.
(9) Senior Suggestions :-
The best point is their way of teaching and environment and culture. It’s different from India as per I feel.
It’s just follows all rule of 3 idiots Aamir Khan. They never focus on grades.
And students of maths and computer can go to ( Institute if mathematical sciences) for lectures. Many of us have not heard of IMSc, but it is best for research.

if family income is less than 8 lac than 5 lac for 2 year’s
